Frontpage 2003 on Win 98se

Hello,

Thanks for reading a question!    One of our nephews has Win 98se on a Pentium 333 system.  The system also has a great deal of RAM.  We wanted to get him Frontpage 2003.  Will it operate on such a system?  If not, are there channels which one can access to buy older versions of frontpage?  What version of Frontpage would be best to use with the system such as his?

Many thanks,

Yunkaa

You need at least Windows 2000 with SP3 installed:  http://www.microsoft.com/office/frontpage/prodinfo/sysreq.mspx

Frontpage 2002: http://www.microsoft.com/office/previous/frontpage/2002sysreqs.asp seems to do it.  As far as locating it, you might check out ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41879&item=7102572716&rd=1

Hello Corey,

Thanks so much for answering our question!  Although we will post in another section, please could you give us your opinion: a  Pentium 333 system with lots of RAM: would such a system run Windows XP Home Edition efficiently?  If we got him XP, then we could also use FP 2003, correct?

Many thanks,

Yunkaa

Windows XP requires at least 233: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/evaluation/sysreqs.mspx - but in all honestly you might consider buying a new computer & it will come with Windows XP.  A 333 is not all that fast.  So as far as efficiency, I would really so no.
