XP sp2 Upgrade - Avaya Unified Messenger 5.0 Client not working

Since the XP SP2 upgrade, my Avaya Unified Messenger client will not route voicemail messages to my telephone (I can play back the messages on my PC).

I've tried reinstalling the UM 5.0 client, I've also updated Office SP3 and applied any critical Office updates, but still no joy.

After you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), some programs may seem not to work. By default, Windows Firewall is enabled and blocks unsolicited connections to your computer. so its necessary you enable this program.

I've turned firewall off, and while the error messages change, it does not fix the underlying problems.  I'm working through the other items in the support note.
