I'm trying to write a program using VB .Net 2003 Standard.

What I want to accomplish is this:

When a user has a second monitor or projector connected to their laptop, they can run this program and it will automatically select the second monitor as the primary display.  This is useful for when they want to play movies through a projector since movie files will only play through your primary display.

Do you think this can be accomplished and how difficult would it be?

I don't know how to do this in VB, but both the ATI and NVIDIA drivers have shortcuts for profiles. For ATI you can assign keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl-Alt-1 makes 1st Monitor the primary and Ctrl-Alt-2 makes the 2nd Monitor the primary one). For NVidia video cards you can select the profile from the Icon in the task tray. Also NVidia supports full screen display (the movie plays in your media player on the primary screen, and also is full screen on the secondary display). That is unless your using an older/other video card/drivers that don't support these features.
