You might want to try narrowing things down a little with some detail of requirements.  Right now the Questions is about as broad as the Pacific.

You're right.  Here's an example to further explain.

I found one tool, JasperReports, that is an open-source report-generating library.

 I'm looking for a web-based report-generating library, no matter what the language.
