HP9000 page shifting when printing from bulk feeder

We have the 2000 sheet feeder for our HP 9000 that we use to hold our checks for the monthly disbursement, but when I try to print the checks from there the checks feed through the printer a little different and the print on the checks ends up moving around.  The one disbursement I noticed that the text was actually printing only halfway on the check by the end of the print job (it started off printing in the correct spot).  Currently we are printing about 4,000 checks a month and I'm feeding the checks through a small check feeder on the side of the printer (I can only feed about 30 checks at a time though).

I am going to try printing from the other trays we have, but does this problem sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks!

What size are these checks? If they are not a standard sheet pf paper size then that is probably your problem.

I found out that the problem is caused by a timing issue between tray 4 (the bulk feeder), and the manual feeder.  I can go into the control panel on the printer and play with the margin settings to correct the problem.

Thanks for anyone who helped.
