Does anyone know of any software, or anything that will allow me to virus scan e-mails that are being sent to my clients? and also, is there a way I can assist my clients from getting spam?

My goal is to setup our web based e-mail along the lines of Hotmail.com and Yahoo.com, We have a long ways to go, but it would be nice to give our clients some options when it comes to spam and viruses.

2 choices in house scanning or outsourced

In house requires a gateway to do it really well, Symantec and many others do gateway based antivirus. I use Kerio Mailserver (www.kerio.com) as my gateway as it does excellent antispam too (over 96% killed, with only 2 false alarms in 14 months, and not a single virus got in!)

Outsourced, there really is only one player and that's MessageLabs. Virtually flawless AntiPorn, spam and virus before it ever hits your mailservers. Utterly brilliant and you never need to run another update again!

If you're going to do something big, then you probably should be looking at the outsourced solution.

Cheers
