The short answer is no.

But if you want to know of a working alternative, read on. If your user is running Outlook 2001 two things are obvious - they have an Exchange-based email account and they're running OS 9 (or Classic through OS X).

As far as I know it was never possible to sync any handheld device with Outlook 2001 which, if I'm to be brutally honest, was a complete turkey of a program. In fact I'll stick my neck out and say it's actually impossible to sync any Pocket PC device with Mac OS 9 (even though it's never been much of a problem with Palm-based devices).

There is a solution but it's not simple and it's not free. Pocket PC devices can sync with a Mac but only through OS X. If you're already running this, that's half the battle won. The second part is to have an email client which:

a) works with an Exchange account and
b) will synchronise with the XDA.

The solution is Entourage, which is a much better program than Mac Outlook ever was. So if you don't have Entourage (part of the Mac Office suite) you'll need to buy that too. And in order to get the XDA and Entourage talking, you'll need a third-party program called PocketMac. The site below offers a huge amount of information on syncing a Mac and a Pocket PC and has links to the PocketMac website:

I hope this helps.
