fine-tune the calibration of a game controller

Has anyone any experience working with game controllers?

I have a playstation 2 control pad connected via a super joy box usb connector that I'm trying to get to run with a game (legacy of kain: soul reaver). It shows up in windows xp control panel as a regular usb game controller.

When I initially ran the game it acted as though "up" is constantly pressed.

So I went into Settings -> Control Panel -> Game Controllers and calibrated the control pad but it now acts as though "down" is constantly pressed.

So I'm guessing that I need to fine tune the calibration to somewhere between those two settings, and the game itself has no calibration features, so I'll probably need to edit registry values or something.

Can anyone help me out?

Try the program above, its used to calibrate flight yokes and joysticks / pads for finetuned flight sims etc.  Might be of help to you.  It allows you to set sensitivty areas etc
