consolidating netware 411 spanned volume to single drive

hi, I have a netware 4.11 server that has its boot (dos) partition, and parts of its sys volume on one drive, and the other part of the spanned sys volume on a seccond (scsi) drive.  i would like to get it all on one (larger) drive.  the only utility i could find to do it was symantec's server magic...

http://sea.symantec.com/content/product.cfm?productid=2

if there is a way to do it from within install, nwconfig, or whatever, or a nice little utility, i would love to hear about it.

thanks in advance, Dan

This Question is probably best asked in the NetWare TA (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Netware/), but we'll see what we can do.

Understand that NetWare v4.11 is about 10 YEARS old, and has been EOLed for over 5 YEARS. Its not supported, nor does it have a lot of the features found in modern versions (like the ones from THIS century, v5.1 thru v6.5).

ServerMagic might do what you want - if any utility has a chance, that would be it. But no, there is no way to do it with the stock tools. I recommend strongly that you make several complete backups of the server before you use ServerMagic. If this is a single-server NDS tree, I recommend strongly that you make sure that your backup software actually backs up your NDS database (most workstation-based backup solutions do NOT).

No problem. Thanks for the points. Planning to upgrade to NetWare v6.5?
