Hi everybody. I want to make my program more useful, so I want to make a help file. I know that I want first a program to create my help file. if this is true, so how can I create a help file of extention .Chm because I like it so much. and after, how can I make a message box going to a specific page in the chm file (help file).

thanks, Omarmallat

Hi omarmallat,

here is a free .CHM creator
http://www.handyarchive.com/Web-Development/HTML-eBook-Compilers/618-Abee-CHM-Maker-freeware.html

The way I do it is:

Set the helpbutton property of your form to true.
Drag a helpprovider from the toolbox to your form. Set the property helpnamespace of your helpprovider to the .chm file.

set the property 'helpnavigator on helppropider' to KeywordIndex
and set the property 'Helpkeyword on helpprovider" to the keyword of your choice.

remember the keyword is case sensitive so it should exactly match the keyword in your .CHM file otherwise it will fail
