Some time ago i bought 3D Studio max from some computer fair. I uninstalled it a while ago, and the other day i thought i'd reinstall it and see if i can remember how it works. But the main CD was cracked across the face, and wouldn't work. Due to the fact i'm short on money, and i really should still be able to use it, i lent a version off my friend.

It installed fine on my laptop, no trouble at all. However, after installing it onto my PC, i try to run it and the splash screen appears. It says, Initializing 3D Max, (something along those lines), then the splash screen goes off, and nothing happens at all.

I tried to look for other questions on this site, but using the search function it seems you have to sign up to premium services to see the solutions.

I'm Running Windows XP Pro, 512MB DDR, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, latest Direct X version and Service Pack 1.

I don't know what else to try...please help me out, thx.
