Oracle Thin JDBC Driver for Oracle 8

Hello Experts,

I'm looking for a JDBC Driver for Oracle 8.

I know that there is Oracle Thin JDBC Driver available but I can't download it from the Oracle website on the followign link(http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/jdbc817.html).

I was wondering has any body got classes12.zip handy with him or her and would be kind enough to send it to me.

Thanks very much and

Best Regards,
Parag

That would probably be against the licnesing agreement. Why can't you download it?

I suggest you to do a registration over the OracleSite (it's free) and then download the driver from them. It's little more sure to use the Oracle original one. (I use and have it).

I have registered on Oracle's site but after completing the registration process when I click Submit, the page simply hangs and then dies off after some time.

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

Sometimes the Oraclesite goes out of mind. Retry.

Hi,

I've finally managed to download the classes12.zip file. Thanks guys.

But, I'm not  too sure as to where to place this zip file. Do I need to place it in the following place: C:\orant\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip
and include exactly the same path in my classpath as well. I mean with the .zip extension ot I would have to unzip it first and then put the path of particular folder in my classpath.

Thanks for clarifying!!

Parag

You can place it anywhere as long as you include it in your classpath.

You could insert in the ext directory of the jdk you use. It will be called automatically (no need to specify in the classpath).

Bye, Giant.
