GetCaretPos in any application

I need to make the  MS Windows APi GetCaretPos function that will work in any applications such as MS Word 97,2000,XP, OpenOffice, Mozilla Webbrowser, Opera webbrowser, etc. Function should returns screen position of caret in pixels (place where user will see the chars after keystrokes).

I need screen coordinates as API function GetCaretPos in any windows application.

not possible, because in some apps the texteditor is not a standard windows-control (word for example), which responses to this api call
