Installation win2k OS on new SATA HD

The installation process doesn't get to the point where it should  ask to install  SATA drivers.
So it returns "not enough disk space" error and aborts the installation process.
The instruction says there must be a promt to press F6 button to start SATA drivers installation.
When should F6 be pressed to start driver installation or is there any other way to overcome this problem?

If you install from a boot CD/disk, by right at the first time you see the blue screen, there would be a text in the bottom part of your screen saying "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver..."
