Unistalled now I can't reinstall
Hello experts,
Iiiiaammm, back
I uninstalled sql on my local machine and I tried to set it so that I kept EM so I can connect to servers remote. Well I uninstalled it all. Now when I go back to install the tools, I get a message that says Setup has detected an existing client tools only installation. Please use the maintenace mode to add client components.
I have no Idea how to get these tools back!
HELP!!!!

Sorry, should have read your description more closely. Have you rebooted after the un-install? I've never experienced a problem like yours and I'm uninstalling/re-isntalling SQL Server on desktop pc's quite a lot. Once you un-install and reboot, the next SQL install should not detect any previous installation. Check the 'add/remove programs' applet in Control Panel and see if SQL Server is still listed and, if necessary, uninstall from there.

I I initially removed it via control panel add remove programs rebooted and get the error when I try to install tools only. I suspect it may be a registry entry but don't know where to begin.
