Event ID 7024 During Startup

I am running WIN2k Server and during startup I receive the following errors in the event log

Service Control Manager
Event ID 7024
The Internet Protocol service terminated with service-specific error 100.

--- and ---
Service Control Manager
Event ID 7024
The Windows Management Instrumentation service terminated with service-specific error 100.

When I go to my services panel and start the Windows Management Instrumentation service, it starts fine but the Internet Protocol service will not start.

Any sugsstions on how to correct these issue?

Hi,

Do you see anything else on the server?? Any other events?? These events only state that some service didn't start on the server and there can be a lot of reasons..

The event immediately preceding these events is the eventlog service starting.

Nothing more??? What if you try to start it up after the server rebooted and didn't start the service??

I set the startup on both to manual and oc course I do not get the error. I still cannot start the IP service.

Not sure what is going on here. I had mad no changes to my system at all. I did try reinstalling the service pack (4) but it did not change anything -- I still get the same problem.

It does not seem to be affecting the operation of the server in anyway but I would like to resolve the problem.

I cannot find anything on the subject (and when i say anything, i mean anything). Are there any other symptoms that can help us solve this problem??? Slow repsonses, any other things??? If not, i don't believ i have a fix or solution, other than rebootig the server or trying to install the latest SP (which you allready did)...
