hi...

sometimes this link will help us

convert .cur files to .bmp
http://www.aha-soft.com/products.htm
and look for the product Icon to Any 2.04

and chk this link
converts bmp to avi
http://www.sharewareriver.com/product.php?id=2185

unfortunatly both the progams are shareware.

in effect  A -> B and B -> C then  A -> C   :-)

Thanks, I'm really after a (free) utility if possible that would  convert an animated cursor to an avi file (in format that the CAnimateCtrl can replay).

I used the ArtCursor to save the ani as a set of bmps.  I used another link I had been given for creating an AVI from a set of bmps (with a little messing I found an AVI format the AnimateControl could read and play).  The link you specified was down so I couldn't test it.

ps.
The other AVI file prog I used is called VideoMach.  (This is the only time I used it so I can't offer any advice/recommendation).
