Sending out a large number of emails...

Hello, I would like to send an introductory e-mail to 2,000+ contacts from outlook.  However, an associate told me that Outlook has some sort of limit or the emails come up at spam.  Can anyone confirm/deny this?   If this is true, any suggestions for another application (preferably free) to do this?

Thanks!

now even if u were able to send to 2000 contacts at the same time ur ISP and the recieving server(if they are all going to the same place)may have a say as to how large
ur DL maybe.
inorder not to have any problem make ur DL not to contain more than 100 contact.

Thanks guys, you were both very helpful!  (honestly, I've found the "blast email" contact to be pretty ineffective...)
