Hi guys,

I have a problem with the default settings for opening email attachments in Outlook.  Whenever I attempt to open the attachments I always get prompted whether I want to save it or open it.
I wish to open the attachments without this dialog box and have tried to tick the 'Open it' option and clear the 'Always ask ....' box, however it defaults back to the dialog box as shown above.

 Thanks heaps
Yours EricPc

Hi ericpc,

Do this
Lets say the attachment is  a word document
open my computer
go to tools --> folder options ---> file types
scroll down to DOC
click on it to enable it
click on advanced
and uncheck " confirm open after download" , press OK and close

now go to outlook
open that email
click on the word attachment and check what happens

In the similar , you need to uncheck that option for the file types that you get as attachment
