Page ranking

Hi,

I would like you to take a look at http://www.hamptons.co.th and tell me whether I have done a good job optimizing it or any suggestion so that I can improve it.

Does frame create a problem with page ranking? I have a few keywords that I'm targeting when a search is done on search engines.

Keywords: Bangkok Apartment, Property Bangkok, Condos Bangkok, real estate bangkok, thailand real estate, thailand property, condominium bangkok, bangkok rentals

I have included this and much more in the META tag for the page above. As for reciprocal links, I'm currently requesting webmaster to add a link on to my web page.

Is it spamming if I created a page in geocities.com that has a link to Hamptons? that is http://www.geocities.com/exmanorite/index.html

I submitted my site to dmoz.org and yahoo.com already but seems like they are pretty slow in processing. What other search engines you think I would consider?

How can I get listed on MSN.com?

My very best regards,

Arvin

>Does frame create a problem with page ranking?

Yes. For example when the spider will try to follow the link http://www.hamptons.co.th/html/interiorintro.html from your site map this is what it will see:

1: <html>
2: <head>
3: <title>.:: Hamptons ::. Property Agents</title>
4: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
5: </head>
6:
7: <frameset rows="121,*" cols="*" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
8:   <frame src="head.html" name="topFrame" frameborder="no" scrolling="NO" noresize marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" >
9:   <frameset cols="160,*" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
10:     <frame src="interiorintro_menu.html" name="leftFrame" frameborder="no" scrolling="NO" noresize marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
11:     <frame src="interior_intro.html" name="mainFrame" frameborder="no" scrolling="auto" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
12:   </frameset>
13: </frameset>
14: <noframes><body>
15:
16: </body></noframes>
17: </html>

The best way to solve the problem is not to use frames.

Ideally you should have a different page for each keyword/phrase not one page for different keyword/phrase.

>Is it spamming if I created a page in geocities.com that has a link to Hamptons?

No.

>I submitted my site to dmoz.org and yahoo.com already but seems like they are pretty slow in processing. What other search engines you think I would consider?

You mean directories I think but for link building here are two approaches that can help:

1. Make a list of all your main competitors and then search on Google for link:www.yourcompetitor.com Tabulate them in Excel and you will end up with all the sites that have linked to all your competitors. Email them and ask for a link to your site.

2. Prepare a list of your keywords and search on Google for terms like this and make a list of suitable sites for emailing later:

"Suggest a link" + "your keyword(s)"
"Suggest a site" + "your keywords(s)"
"Suggest URL" + "your keyword(s)"
"Suggest an URL" + "your keyword(s)"
"Add a link" + "your keyword(s)"
"Add a site" + "your keyword(s)"
"Add URL" + "your keyword(s)"
"Add an URL" + "your keyword(s)"
"Submit a link" + "your keyword(s)"
"Submit a site" + "your keyword(s)"
"Submit URL" + "your keyword(s)"
"Submit an URL" + "your keyword(s)"
"directory" + "your keyword(s)"
"directories" + "your keyword(s)"
"favourite links" + "your keyword(s)"
"cool sites" + "your keyword(s)"
"cool places" + "your keyword(s)"
"recommended links" + "your keyword(s)"
etc., etc.

You get the idea :)  You just have to use your imagination for this one!

I forgot...

Just get an inbound link from a site that is already indexed in MSN search!

Thank you for your quick response.

Does a link from geocities count as inbound link?, if it does then probably it would probably have less impact.

"Ideally you should have a different page for each keyword/phrase not one page for different keyword/phrase." - I never thought of that really, good idea. I'll get on to this.

Do you have any other advice that I should be looking into? You probably had a look at the Hamptons home page. the description in the noframe tag is that spamming because I often repeated bangkok condo, real estate and stuff like that.  Do you think that noframe tag would help somewhat

>Does a link from geocities count as inbound link?

Yes all inbound links count. Google will consider some links more important than others. If the linking page itself does not have many inbound links then it's less important than one that does for example. This is part of Google's PageRank™ algorithmic factor http://www.iprcom.com/papers/pagerank/

>Do you have any other advice that I should be looking into?

Read through this tutorial carefully http://www.seo-guy.com/tutorial.html

>Do you think that noframe tag would help somewhat

It might do but a tag that is consistently abused like the <noframes> tag is never going to be taken too seriously by Google and it is better not to use frames at all.
