Uninstall Norton Internet Security

The uninstall file for norton was not installed when I loaded the program. Now i cannot FULLY remove Norton from my kids' computer. It gives me an error when I try to remove it from the Add/Remove File, saying that this file cannot be removed. How do I go about getting Norton off of the system?

Boot into safe mode and then try using add/remove programs.
