Error performing inpage operation

I receive the message above when I try to access at least two folders on my Optiplex GX260 w/ W2K.  One is my Quickbooks folder which contains all of my data.  I can't seem to copy, move, or access the file no matter what mode I'm in.  I'm am desperate to save the data in these folders.  Thanks

Trying running chkdsk /r from a command prompt

Thank you!!  Running that command showed flaws on the HD and collected all the affected files in a found.000 folder.  It worked.  I will be replacing my HD today.
