Can't move items error message
in outlook 2003 business contact manager I recently lost all my business contact information. at the same time i can no longer add new contacts or move existing contacts to the business manager files.

So you reinstalled outlook and afer that were you able to work with BCM..
Try recreating your outlook profile as well going to control panel --> mail --> show profiles and removing the profile and creating it again.
make sure to backup all data before that

Before I do that, I will export my contacts information to my documents, back up BCM contacts, but what about the current e-mail in my inbox, deleted files, and other subfolders? Is this the correct way to back up the information?
Look for outlook.pst file searching in hidden folders
Mostly it would be found in
C:\Documents and Settings\{your profile name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
