hi all,

how can I a generate a SNMP trap from java ?
i want my external tools to monitor my java app.

You can use some API like JoeSNMP to generate the traps.

Another approach could be to generate the SNMP message for the trap.
But I suggest you to use API allready done:
http://www.opennms.org/files/releases/joeSNMP/

do you know of any examples / tutorials for using JoeSNMP, snmpTrapAppender or SNMP4J to send traps ?

i'm totally clueless in regards to their usage, info on google is sparse too.
Maybe i'm just not searching right
