Software using to much virtual memory!

HI!
The problem consists in "blocking" the computer(big amount of page file-memory) while using a Finite Element Analysis software.
First of all I had a clean reinstall of windows. I have installed the FEMethod software(SAP2000) and it was working normal (fast).By fast, I mean when I was opening the program, it took only 1 minute to display all the menus in the program.
Than, I installed another software of FEA(ROBOT).
Now, SAP2000 takes 10 minutes to open and is using like 300 Mb of memory. In the Task Manager the total page file size becomes 600-700 Mb.
I have WinXP Pro and 384 DDR.
Seems to be a compatibility problem.
How can I solve the problem?
Thanks.

Not sure you posted this is the right channel.
This one is related to CAD (drawing) and not SAP.
Or I missed something ?

Yeah! I thought about this. It is about Design and not about software problems.Soory.
Let's hope I will be able to move it. Or it will be done by some in-charge here?

Hi fishy1

Maybe you could try: Uninstalling and Reinstalling SAP2000; Or
You could try changing the size of your page file: Right-click My Computer | Click Properties | Click on the Advanced Tab | Under Performance, Click Settings | Click the Advanced Tab | Under Virtual Memory, Click Change | In here you can try changing the size of your paging file, then clicking set, OK and then restaring your computer...?

Hope this helps

I've done this ones. No use. I had this problem only hen I installed first SAP and then Robot, and when I installed some video capturing(from the desktop) programs. I end up to the conclusion that it is about video codecs.
Now, I've reinstalled Windows, and first Robot then SAP...and it works. I still don't know the cause.Maybe, because now I've installed Robot with minimal capabilities or because it was installed first....?!?

Hmmm... It could be either "...Robot with minimal capabilities or because it was installed first..." Glad it's working now!
