Hello

Is there a way in which the moderator/admin can get a notification email saying that a new message is being requested to post in a current topic. After this notification, the moderator/admin approves or declines the post and then if approved ...allows it to be posted on the discussion board?

I'm using a PHP discussion board.

Please let me know if you need any more information to answer this question.

Waiting for your replies...

Avi

PS: I can increase the points if this is a hard one

Totally depends on which board you are using.

Personally I don't know any board-software which by default supports such, but I suppose there would be more people needing this kind of 'plugin'.

From just a php-code point of view. Your requirements are not even that complex.

It could be done by adding a extra field 'status' or something to each post.

Then you could add a mail() function call when somebody posts in a thread. Then initialy you would set the 'status' to 0. Then you'd change the Select * From posts query - which is not realy select * from posts, but already much more complex - and add a 'AND status > 0' into it.

Third you should make an edit-screen which shows all posts with status=0 and enabled mods/admins to change those zero's to ones.
