does anyone have a clue?

do you have experience selling .net software over the internet, do people buy although it might be a huge download if .net is not yet installed?

Snce the .NET Framework is now part of all Microsoft Operating System installs (I just purchased a NEW Del  LapTop for my wife, with Windows XP Home Edition installed, and the .NET Framework was ALSO already installed at the factory), so the issue of a 'huge' download is rapidly becoming a non-issue, and if you include the .NET framework with your deployment package, it also is a non-issue.

Don't you think that the download size for a shareware programm shocks potential customers? Even the smallest app or tool will be more than 20 mb if .net is not installed...

As I said, it is becoming quite common the the .NET Framework is already installed, and it is a one time thing. But then, I already have the Framework installed, and I don't sell software over the net.  But for most people who have access to Broadband, a 20Meg download is not that big a deal.
