I'd like to schedule my POP connector to download my email every minute vs. every 15 minutes. Is there a way to do this, such a registry setting?

Thanks,

Josef

Hi jermis,
I assume that you're using Small Business Server, or do you have a third-party POP3 connector.

With the SBS one, the short answer is "No"

The long answer can be found at : http://www.microsoft.com/sbserver/community/sbs_faq.asp and says:
No. The SBS POP3 connector is supplied as a transition tool or a "next best option" to SMTP, the most commonly used mail server on the Internet.

For server-based e-mail, it is recommended that you use SMTP mail rather than POP3. There are several third-party products available (for example: http://www.popbeamer.com) you can configure to download e-mail more often, but the SBS POP3 connector cannot be adjusted below 15 minutes.

To set up an SMTP mail account with your ISP, have them point the MX (Mail Exchanger) records to your static IP address.

If you have dynamic IP address, explore the options for dynamic DNS software, such as those at http://www.tzo.com.
