Getting a 'DMI decode' error at reboot on my HP Tablet PC

I have researched this error for 5 days now, cant seem to get it resovled.  Does anyone have an idea what the Tablet is doing at this point and how to resolve the issue?  The Tablet is running XP SP2.

It is an issue with the bios.

First thing I would do would be to reset the bios to default settings (try getting the killcmos program from here:  http://www.utilitygeek.com/details.php?fileid=82  and downloading and running it.  It will reset the cmos back to defaults).  If that doesn't work, I would then consider updating my bios to a newer bios.

Also do you have any extenral hardware hooked up to the comptuer?  If you do, remove all of it including removing the laptop from a docking station/port replicator.

Then test again.

Also try doing the "reset configuration data" step mentioned in the above posting before doing the bios update.

Remember, a bios update can destroy a mothernboard completely if you don't pay close attention when updating it.
