powerchute

Hello I have a client that has a windows 2003 server that she woudl like to have powerchute working. I have only worked with powerchute on netware boxes, what do I do on a windows 2003 server?

Connect the APC UPS to the server, connect the com cable and install Powerchute for the server. The business edition is a free download from here:

The interface is almost self explaining.

it has a usb connection will this work?

i installed teh software, and maually choose usb. installed all three options, but when I start it it says there are no apc agents to manage would you like to add one, what do I do?

Yes, USB is good. You must add an agent. I use the snmp agent to manage the UPS on the server from another workstation. If you have smart agent install it.
