reporting services client tools

Where can I get the client tools to create reports for reporting services?  I used to have the evaluation copy installed on my machine. it of course ended and now I got the enterprise copy.. but it will only install on Servers.

Any ideas?

You must use Visual Studio .NET with the reporting services client tools installed from the reporting services CD.  I'm fairly sure you can only use Visual Studio .NET to create reports.

Hope this helps,

I have visual studio.net... and before when I had the evaluation copy installed on my machine I was able to create a report project. I uninstalled reporting services from my machine.. and now I don't have It anymore. so.. how do I get the client tool.. addin or whatever it is for VS.Net so I can make reports
I'm guessing that when you uninstalled reporting services from your machine, you also uninstalled the reporting services plug-in for VS.net.  You should be able to install the client components from the reporting services CD.

Nope.. it won't let me.. I get an error stating that the new reporting services can only be installed on a server machine. I thought that I would be able to go further but it just stops me there.
Ok, I think I know what the problem is.  When you install it, there are server components and client components.  Make sure that you are only installing the client components.  You're right, the server components cannot be installed on a workstation.

:P... I know that much.. sorry.. my problem is that the client components aren't showing up.. it's just telling me I can't install the services.. and then goes about it's merry way of denying me.

I'm not sure if there is a separate msi or setup file.. but I can't get to the client tools directly from where I am.
What is the exact error message that you're receiving?

there isn't an error message.. per se.. I try to install it.. and it seems liek there isn't a way to install the client tools. It just tells me that I can't install the reporting services on this platform and that this component will not be installed. I click next and I get to a screen that will only let me cancel.. not continue on to install the client tools.
I apologize in advance if the following seems too simple.  I just want to try to distiguish where your installation differs from mine.  I installed Reporting Services from my MSDN disk.  When I put in the DVD, a list of the contents of the DVD comes up in a browser.  I click on the "SQL Server™ 2000 Reporting Services Enterprise Edition (English)" link and a window opens that contains the setup files.  I double-click on setup.exe and the installation starts.  I accept the license agreement and click next.  The Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Setup Support files get installed and I click next.  I get the error message "This edition of Reporting Services you are installing only supports installation of the Report Server and Report Manager components on a server operating system..."  At this point, I have the option to continue by clicking next or cancel.  If you are getting the same message, this error message only means that you can ONLY install the client components, not the server components.  You should be able to continue and install the client components.  Is the above message the only error that  you see?  If there are any required components missing, it may not let  you continue.  Does this help?

I don't have the MSDN disk... I have one that I asked Microsoft for.. I paid 5 bucks to have them ship it to me.. not sure if it's different or what..

I'll try this again tommorrow though.
