Hi!
I am trying to locate Oracle 8 Client for Solaris on Sparc system and NOT x86.

Can you point me to the EXACT link where I can download. I have tried Oracle and Sun FreWare sites.  Sun FreWare does not have it.

The closest I see is on  the Oracle site is "Oracle 8i Enterprise for Sparc". I'm not sure if I have to download the entire 600MB+ software to get to the client install; or even does it have it bundled in with the package?

That's all there is, unless you can find a CD to borrow from a friend. You have to download the whole thing, which includes the client tools, but you don't have to install anything other than the tools.

I should mention that the 9i and 10g clients have worked fine with 8i databases for me.

Thanks!

I decided to download the full suite for Sparc from Oracle site. I actually need 8.1.7.x - so I am fine with that.

My next challnege is to extract and install and configure just the client.
I am hoping I will find step-by-step details somewhere.
