Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this problem? I've never seen it before and there doesn't seem to be too much info. on it.

Trying to open "Mavis Beacon" in XP and getting this error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program......\mavis10.exe

this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Hello Lakefront =)

Try uninstalling it !!
then run sfc scan,
Goto START>RUN and type, cmd  (hit enter)
now type, sfc /scannow  (hit enter)
SFC scan will start scanning ur system
u will need ur WinXP CD in order to fix the corrupted windows system files, if found by scan.

restart and now reinstall it, check if still the same problem or not ??
Good Luck :)
