Hearing noises

I am hearing noises, clicking noises and my pop up blocker is not tallying anything. That's the noise I'm hearing. Also....I went to a chat room on Winmx and came out with more files than I had when I entered on no part of my doing....I deleted them all, but am still concerned about what's going on. When I run Search and Destroy, I'm seeing names I'm not familiar with on the little scanning files place, the one that changes all the time. Are these my files, or what they are checking for? I also have spy sweeper ran twice weekly and do adaware 1-2 weeks .I made a hi-jack log to be safe. Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

I would just unistall Weather bug
you can remove it from add/remove programs from your control panel.
Hi!   jujujules
Just some follow up.
Some resources to consider, to keep yourself from having problems in the future -
A wealth of info at the following 2 sites (experts exchange people - all!):
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20975384/Standard-response-material-re-Spyware-Adware-BHOs-and-other-Malware.html
And -
http://www.petenetlive.com/Tech/Browsers/hijack.htm

Other useful advice:
How did I get infected in the first place?
http://boards.cexx.org/viewtopic.php?t=957
-------------------------
Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

    * Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.  http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
    * Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html
    * How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=48
    * How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=43

To protect yourself further:

    * IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm
    * MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
    * Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
http://toolbar.google.com/

I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders:
# C:\Windows\Temp - delete ALL of the CONTENTS of the folder - Not the "temp" folder itself!
# C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files (all contents)
<=This will delete all your cached internet content including cookies.
This is recommended and strongly suggested!
However, if you delete all your cookies - this can affect your stored Internet passwords
and your ability to logon automatically to various sites.
So, consider deleting all your cookies - optional
# C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp (all contents)
# C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files (all contents)
# C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp (all contents)
# Empty your "Recycle Bin".
Hope this helps - and: thank you for coming to "Experts-Exchange"!
Regards!
