CD writer taking 4 hours to copy

this was working Ok then it slowed down for no apparent reason, nothing else ahs changed, copies are reliable, no spyware.

Any ideas what i might look for, the only thing I can think of is an internal setting in the copying software has changed and is now on 2X rather than 52.  Dont knoe why it should change and I have not gone out to look at it yet

Ideas would be appreciated

Hello,

Are you sure your software isn't in trial/demo mode.

First try other media
Then try to do a lens clean (if possible)
Then reinstall writer software
If you use Nero you can check the Info Tool
Try to test the writer in other machine
Try to do a firmware upgrade or refresh
