Installation Driver for SiL 3114 Hang up the Workstation.

I am trying to install the driver for RAID controller Sil3114 for my Giga-byte Mother board but once installed and reboot the workstation the PC hangs one WindowsXP Professional LOGO appears.

Mother board: GIGA-BYTE GA-8ANXP-D, Intel 925 chipset, processor 775 socket.
Configuration: installed Processor 3.4GHz 1MB Cache, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 2x 120GB SATA HDD.
OS: WindowsXP PRO, SP-1 (Updated).

Any body has any idea what is going on & how to solve this issue.

Can you get into safe mode? if you can I would try to uninstall the driver. Did you notice a popup telling you that the driver wasnt digitally signed? You might try disabling the drives in your bios and then see if windows will boot. If it does boot, that would suggest to me that the driveris not compatible.

If all else fails you can boot from your XP cd and do a repair install. Dont go into the recovery console, but continue as you would for a normal fresh install. Select your XP partition and setup will tell you that there is already an XP there. It will now give you a repair option that will replace the OS system files but leave all your programs and files. The hope is that if there is a driver conflict/compatibility issue, setup will see that and not load those drivers.
