Connect Sybase ASE 12.5 to MS SQL Server 2000 ??

I'm trying to understand how to create a proxy table from ASE-12_5 to MS Sql Server 2000.
I'm thinking I may need to install a DirectConnect server? If so, is this included on my
installation cd? I'm running on Solaris 2.8 with ASE-12_5. I thought I had seen somewhere
that one of the new features of ASE 12.5 was access to diff. databases.

Thanks in advance

You are correct.  You can only create a proxy table against another Sybase product (ASE, ASA, ASIQ) or via DirectConnect, now Enterprise Connect Data Access.

No DirectConnect is not included on your installation CDs.  It is a separate product that must be purchased.  It is not exactly cheap

Enterprise Connect Data Access, ECDA for short.  The MS-SQL version lists for about $4,000 (on Win-NT).  You may also have to purchase the ECDA Base for $2,000 though you probably escape having to purchase a bunch of network seats because you have a server-to-server application.

Hope that helps.
