Can't see mail

Hi all

In outlook ive set my e-mail so i get a message every time someone sends a mail to me.The problem is
its not showed in front of the application when i recive mail but behind so if iam using word i cant see if i have mail only
when i close word, does anyone know where you change the settings ive looked and looked but cant
seem to find it.

I am not quite sure about the above statement..

Why are you opening word when you are wanting to check email  in outlook ?

Are you talking about Word being used as the default email editor and if yes , then open Outlook.go to tools --> options --> mail format and uncheck "use microsoft word as default email editor"
press OK

Now see if the issue is solved.
