Outlook express takes ages to load

Hi, i use Outlook express frequently but everytime i try to load it the initial outlook intro screen loads and stays for about 3 minutes.  It may be a silly question but, why?

Problem solved - it was the messenger pane window was open - Thanks for that - very handy article
