I have an application which is development under Tomcat server.

I would like to create a instance for Production and one for Testing in the same machine. One using port 8080 and the other using 8081.

Can I do that under one Tomcat server and how can I do that ? Or I need to setup two tomcat server?

Thanks

You must create two service with separate connectors

<Service name="Production">
<Connector port="8080" ... />
<Engine ...
<Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/production" ... >
...
</Host>
</Engine>
</Service>

<Service name="Testing">
<Connector port="8081" ... />
<Engine ...
<Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/testing" ... >
...
</Host>
</Engine>
</Service>
