Server enviornment utility

HI

I usually upload phpinfo.php to check what I think is called the  "server enviornment' -- to see the paths, location of sendmail, etc.

The server I'm checking does NOT have php installed, so I need another utility to upload so I can check out the paths, etc.  It's a unix, of course, and I remember once using some other program to give me similar information. I think it was a perl script -- *.cgi

Can anyone direct me to one of these utiltiies?

Thanks
