DFS and replication

I am either missing something small or have the wrong idea of DFS and file replication.  I have created a DFS Root and published it in AD.  Now I'm trying to setup part 2, which in my mind is that I can have a folder replicated to the local hard drive of all clients so that files will be contained locally on the PC for installs.

My thoughs are to have a folder on each PC called Public.  Inside this folder will be patches and other small applications or possibly even shortcuts.  How do I get the folder and files to replicate to all clients from the server.  I want a 1 way replication where as only the server writes to the client PC's.  I have looked all over the setting in the DFS and in AD.  What am I missing? Or is this not possible?

I believe DFS can be used in a similar fashion, but for servers.  If you have workstations, you should look into setting up Offline Folders and Files on the client machine.  You don't need DFS for that.

If I set in the ADUC for Offiline files in the computer settings to replicate the files/folder, where will this folder be located on each remote computer?  Will it be in the %systemroot% or will there be multiple copies for each user?
