Experiencing high CPU utilization due to excess runtimes on DLLHost and INetInfo.
Recently we have been experiencing high CPU utilization on our production Web server. When we pulled up the task manager we noticed that DLLhost.exe was running between 30 and 45% and Inetinfo.exe were also running about the same. This keeps our server at 75% nearly all the time. The Server is a Dell dual 2.4 ghz xeon processors, 2 gig of ram, 2KSP4. It has the current virus definitions and and scans clean for viruses. We have stopped and started the ISS service which reduces CPU loading only to jump right back up.

Is the server hosting public websites or intranet "controlled" sites? A lot of times bad code will cause this kind of behavior. If you turn off IIS and the CPU usage drops, that might be a sign that there is a bad reference somewhere in one of the sites. You can also try disabling all of the sites and re-enabling them one at a time to help figure out if this is the case and if so on what site.
