Dynamic Web site adding using ColdFusion

I want to let a customer add a web site using a subdomain on my web site dynamically.

There's some solution to add a DNS record dynamically using a Command prompt command, but I also seek a way to define a web site as well to host this new subdomain.

Do I have to add a new subdomain in IIS or is there an alternate method ?

From MSDN:

"You can use the command-line script iisweb.vbs, stored in the systemroot\System32\ directory, to create Web site configurations on local or remote Windows Server 2003 servers running IIS. This command does not create or destroy content, but simply sets up the directory structure and some IIS configuration files.

When you use Iisweb.vbs to create a new Web site, you specify only the basic properties needed to create the site and identify its contents. Iisweb.vbs uses the same default properties that IIS Manager uses when establishing new Web sites, and adheres to the same rules for inheriting properties. To configure the more advanced properties of the site, use IIS Manager.
. . . . ."

So, create script - VBS or JS - (or use script above) and run WIndows Scripting Host via CFEXECUTE (or a better replacement: http://www.cftagstore.com/tags/cfxexec.cfm) to execute this script (cscript.exe launched in cmd.exe).  Most administrative tasks for IIS are available via scripting.

Thank you for your response.

By the way, Is there any way to host a subdomain without adding DNS & IIS records ?
