Configure a UPLINK port on Cisco 2950 Switch

Help... I am having a hard time trying to configure FA0/1 port to be my UPLINK port.  I have a stright through cable going from a drop to the first port.

Assuming there is switch at the other end, are you using a crossover cable?

You mention it's coming from a "drop". Make sure there is only ONE crossover cable between the two switches. Two crossover cables = a straight through cable.
