asked on

do not receive graphics on messages forwarded

Hi All.  Why is it that I cannot receive graphics on some of the messages that I receive that have been forwarded from friends or co-workers.  This is not always the case...in fact.....I receive complete messages more times than I receive the ones that don't have the graphics.   I will only see a box up in the upper left corner of a frame with a red x in it.  Is this my problem or is something going on with the other persons machine and how do I (or they) correct it.

Is this outlook or outlook express and if whatever, what version ?

What OS you are having ?

Is the issue only with graphics or any attachment is a problem to be opened ?

Are you having windows xp Sp2 by any chance ?

Sorry.....all that info would be of a help wouldn't it?  Duh!!!  Outlook Express, XP home with sp1.  Only appears to be happening on graphics on the e-mail that I receive that has been forwarded.  Have no problems open attachments from the same senders, usually....won't go so far as to say never....cause I really don't know.
Are those html emails

is your outlook express and IE fully updated in your machine ?

can you send a graphics attachment to yourself to check cos the senders might be sending it wrongly ?

Clear temporary internet files , cookies to see if that would help .

how do you know if it is a html e-mail or something else?  Not very well versed here, sorry.  Outlook express and IE is full updated....and I will send some graphics to myself to see ......  will firewalls or virus programs stop graphics from being received?
