Lost password to unlock server group

Greetings,

We are presently running Symantec Corporate Edition 9 server and clients. When running the Symantec System Center console I cannot get the server group unlocked because we do not know the password. Is there a way to reset the password to the default symantec?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Lewis

On NAVCE 7.x the following workaround did exist: Go to the primary parent server of the affected group. Search the registry for the value "ConsolePassword" and delete this value. Now the password should be reset to the default one. Try whether this will work in SAVCE 9 too (make a backup of the registry hive before doing that to be safe).

Hope this helps.

ghana,

thanks very much. It does work for SAVCE 9. That took care of the problem.
