Timage Replacement

As the title suggest I am looking for a TImage replacement that has the ability to load / save images in the following formats.

*.bmp
*.gif
*.jpg
*.tiff
*.pcd
*.emf
*.psp
*.psd
*.png
*.wmf
*.tga

(other formats welcome but those are a must)

The only requirements I have are

1. it must be free

2. must have both load and save support for ALL the formats listed above

3. not require dlls

4. Work in D6 and above

Some things I can tell you that might help in your reply....

I have already lookied at the the graphics components at torrys and none of them have met the requirements above  so pleas don't suggest I look there.

Also I have tried the ImageMagick wrapper component for delphi and while it will load and save all the formats above it uses alot of dlls to do the job and I am looking for a cleaner solution so again please do not suggest that.

Thanks for all replies in advance.

Guess you forgot to check this out ;-)
GraphicEx http://www.soft-gems.net/Graphics.php

It's not a TImage replacement, but rather, an "add-on" to your TImage to enable to open all the above files, plus more! All you need to do is to include it in your uses unit, after installation.

Nope I already have the GraphicEX library but it does not do one thing that  I required above with is "save support"

I also have the FreeImage Library and it also does not save in all the formats that I need ... at the end of the day I am almost sure there is not going to be a component or library that  is free that will fit my needs so I am thinking of just changing this question to   ask for some code examples on how to create my own component that will do it and release it as freeware for the rest of the community to use but I will wait to see if anyone else has a component /library that I have not looked at before I do that.

Ah... I see... what about "extending" GraphicEx then?

Thats exactly what  I thought about doing once I posted the last comment and would  happy to do so except my coding skills are shall we say below average (only started programmin as a hobby 8 months ago) so I have not reached the level of experience where I could accomplish such a task on my own.

I am suprised that some of the more experienced programmers have not taken a shot at it though as it would be a great benefit to alot of people but  I guess I will give it a shot ....... worst that could happen is I learn some things I did not know before and that ain't such a bad thing...

if anyone would like to give me some pointers to help get me started though it would be greatly appreciated as my ultimate goal is to make a good freeware batch image processor (will prob turn it into a sourceforge project once I get a solid foundation to start with) and again thanks for the comments in advance.

I guess most programmers do not bother with it because the scenario hasn't yet arisen where we would need to have load/save abilities for *all* the above-mentioned formats.

Therefore, most of the time, we would just use the libraries/units relevant to the image format(s) we are looking for.

You could have also asked the Customer Support to just Delete this Question... but thanks for the points anyway ;-)
