Exchange 2003

Hi
I am trying to connect 2 exchange 2003 servers over a 2mb lease line, the server in the UK is the main mail server and I’m am trying to add our  us mail server to the mail domain. The Windows server in the US is already join on the same AD domain.
If I install exchange 2003 on additional server in the US it installs fine and I can see all information in system manager regards UK , but the mta and information store service fail to start on the US mail server

Kind regards

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

may be a replication problem. Compare the configuration partitions of the DC in US and UK wiht ADSI-Edit .

This issue may occur if the Exchange Enterprise Servers security group does not have Manage auditing and security logs permissions on the domain controller. The Exchange Enterprise Servers group must have Manage auditing and security logs permissions on all the domain controllers in the domain.

Please check for Default Domain Controller Policy ....

ok, think that´s the problem

Add the Exchange Enterprise Servers-Group to

Computer Configuration
- Windows Settings
  -  Security Settings
     - User Rights Assignment
       - "Manage auditing and security log"

Please also check that all your DCs are in the "Domain Controllers" OU
Replicate AD, start gpudate.exe at all DCs and restart Exchange ....

You have a problem with the policies therefore Exchange cannot start. You have to restore or recreate the Policies.

Try the tool dcgpofix which is included in Win 2003
