Printer Not showing up....

I have installed a 3rd party PDF printer on my Windows XP machine. It appeared in the list of printers. I then, deleted the printer through the Printers List, and proceeded to uninstall it through the Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel.

When done, I attempted to install the printer again. The installation was smooth, and did not encounter any problems. However, the PDF printer does not show up in the list.

Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What version of XP?  If SP2, this might add info for you

It is XP with SP2. I looked the information in the above URL, as well as something else that have to do with setting some environment variables. All of which did not help. Upon closer examination, I found that there were remnances of old Printer installation. I removed the remnances, and re-installed. Then, the printer showed up without any issues..

I guess the un-install did not clean up the environment entirely.

Thank you for your help.
